We are a 501c-3 dog rescue foundation dedicated to rescuing dogs, the day they are to be euthanized, from various Los Angeles shelters and placing them in loving homes. We do NOT take dogs in ... we rescue only from shelters. The Ace of Hearts Foundation is in memory of "Ace", a wonderful American Bull dog who was rescued from death, and touched the lives of many! (Especially founder Kari Whitman!) We rescue all breeds...and don't discriminate against any!

Avery - before

Despite the terrible neglect and abuse she has endured, Avery still welcomes hugs!

Poor Avery was rescued just in time from a HORRENDOUS situation in a puppy mill. She is an English bulldog who was overbred until her ovary swelled up to the size of an orange (it should have been the size of a grape!). We can't even imagine the kind of pain she must have been in. Because of neglect, she also has spindle tumors all over. She was sick and malnourished and because of being in such bad shape, ended up needing a blood transfusion after her surgery and had to stay at the vet for three days. Please help cover the cost of helping this brave lady!!! Please visit our donations page to help! And please pass her story on to people who think it's okay to buy puppies from stores!
